Chefs take on cookie cuisine

Fundraiser benefits SoCal Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast will host its third annual Fork It Over fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Thurs., Aug. 3 at the Palm Garden Hotel, 495 N. Ventu Park Road, Thousand Oaks.

The event will feature chefs from local restaurants, caterers and food trucks creating Girl Scout cookie-inspired appetizers and desserts.

In addition, spirit purveyors from across California’s Central Coast, including local breweries and wineries, will offer samples.

Ticket sales will help local Girl Scout participate in troop activities including camping, earning patches, developing leadership skills and STEM-related events.

The evening will conclude with a cookie culinary competition. A panel of judges will select the best creations and guests can vote on their favorite entry for the “People’s Choice” award as well as participate in a silent auction.

Food and spirit sponsors will include: Brendan’s Irish Pub, DJs California Catering, Dottie’s Sweet Delights, Sub Zero Ice Cream, Sugar Lab Bake Shop, The Cave Ventura, Seasons Catering Ventura, The Gourmet Girl, Blvd. Brgr Co., DeLiese Cellars, Enegren Brewing Co., Figueroa Mountain Brewery, Institution Ale Co., Labyrinth Winery, Martian Ranch and Vineyard, Opolo Vineyards, The Dudes’ Brewing Company and Poseidon Brewing Company.

Tickets, which include spirits/ wine, appetizers and dessert samples, are $50 per person or $75 for double admission. The event is open to those 21 years of age and over.
