Neighborhood councils recruiting board members

The City of Simi Valley is accepting applications for neighborhood council executive board members.

The councils meet on a monthly basis to:

Give residents the opportunity to voice their concerns or ask questions about their neighborhood and city

Advise the City Council and planning commission on resident concerns, development projects and other matters on which the council has requested input

Give developers the opportunity to talk to residents and address questions early in the planning process.

Vacancies are available on each of the four neighborhood council executive boards for two-year terms from Nov. 1, 2017 to Oct. 31, 2019.

Applicants must be age 18 or older and residents of Simi Valley.

The deadline for submitting applications is Fri., Aug. 11.
